Cats roam in the neighbourhood spraying property, killing wildlife in local parks and bush lands. Dogs are required to be secured at property and have restrictions outside of property the same should apply to cats that cause more environmental damage

Request

We, the undersigned, respectfully request that the Council ask the community to vote in regards to keeping cats controlled and confined to their premises to avoid further environmental impact on wild life and neighbours. 

Although there is law and regulations in place for licenses, microchipping and neutering and breeding they are not followed by all and are still causing issues for non cat owners. I believe should be more in line with dog control ie under effective control at all times.

The current options for the nuisance of neighbours cats on their property is numerous deterrents at the expense of the non cat owner which is extremely unfair and expensive it is also not a guaranteed deterrent for damage to property and wild life.
